"May the works I've done, speak for me"
Dr. Ruby J.
Wilburn was a Spirit filled, ordained
minister of the Word. She was known for her dynamic teaching, apostolic
anointing and her strong love for people. Dr. Ruby, as she is known in her
community, was a constant blessing to those she came in contact with and had a
desire to help those in need. It was out of this love and concern for people
that she founded Total Women of America Outreach Center.
Under the
Outreach Center she began a new family supplement alternative program called
Family Choice, which subsidizes families in
need and assisting them until they can manage on their own.
Dr. Ruby was a licensed Christian Family Counselor holding three degrees and one
doctorate in Family and Marriage Counseling. She worked closely with the
Lake County Department of Children and Family Services, and the District
Advisory Council for the Lake County School Board. With her increased love of
ministry, she extended herself outside her immediate community into other
counties to work with the Orange County Court System, the House of Hope Ministry
for Teenagers in Orlando, and the Marion County Prison System where she taught,
supported, and nurtured women housed there. She also practiced as a Christian
counselor through her counseling service, HELP NOW,
and was the owner of Ruby J’s Boutique both located in Clermont, Florida.
Dr. Ruby published her first book entitled, “I’m Not
Going To Let You Go Until You Bless Me!” and “Breaking The Spirit of Poverty.”
She also had a new TV Talk Show “Family Magazine Talk Show” which began airing
in January 1999.
Dr. Ruby would want nothing more
than her dream of TWA to continue. Although it will never be the same
without her, we are dedicated to keeping TWA active with our many projects and
events.
We invite you to meet staff by calling
the TWA office at 352-394-7799.

A beautiful presentation slide show has been
created in memory of Dr. Ruby J. Wilburn. It has many treasured pictures
of her, her family, and beloved friends and is accompanied by two songs that
were of her personal favorites playing in the background. The presentation is
approximately 11 minutes long.
We are confident that you will cherish this keepsake of memories of Dr. Ruby.
